Who am I?

Hi, I’m Kirsten Lang— the tutor behind All Kinds of Minds.

With over 25 years of experience in primary education, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to the work I do. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching across year levels, leading teams for eight years as a Team Leader, and serving for eight years as a Deputy Principal in Wellington and the Tauranga.

I am a graduate of Victoria University with a Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching, and in 2017 I completed a Master of Educational Leadership through the University of Waikato. My leadership roles have given me a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment, and how to support children at different stages of their learning journey.

But beyond qualifications and titles, what truly shapes my approach is my belief that every child can succeed when they feel understood.

As a mother of three gorgeous daughters — two of whom have their own learning needs — I understand firsthand the challenges families can face. I’ve experienced education from both sides: as a teacher, and as a parent navigating support systems. That perspective allows me to work closely with families in a way that is empathetic, practical, and collaborative.

I created All Kinds of Minds because I believe learning should build confidence, not diminish it. My goal is to provide a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and grow in both skill and self-belief.

Every child’s mind works in its own unique way — and that’s something to be celebrated.

I look forward to supporting your child’s learning journey.
